Emergency Instructions
Here are the most common orthodontic concerns during your treatment, If you cannot find a solution below please call or text us at Chanhassen Office Phone Number (651) 450-7273 with any questions and we will get back to you as soon as we can

1. I lost my current Invisalign® Tray
- If you have your next tray available, try it in, if it fits wear it full time 20-22 hours a day, a few extra days until you are back to your normal scheduled change.
- If you do not have your next tray available, go back to your previous tray and wear previous tray, call our office during regular business hours and we will provide you with next steps
- No trays to wear? Call our office during regular business hours and we will assist you in scheduling an appointment
2. I Am Missing An Attachment For My Invisalign®-The Attachment is The Tooth Colored Bump On Your Teeth

Continue to wear your current aligner full time, 20-22 hours a day

At your next regularly scheduled appointment, please let us know a few of your attachments are off and we can replace them for you

Please bring your next unused tray with you – attachments will be applied to your tooth using a brand new aligner for best fit

If your tray is bouncy or isn’t staying on your teeth – Please call or text our office during regular business hours to schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience to them placed back on
- If you are missing an attachment please call our office during regular business hours to schedule an appointment to come in and have it replaced. Please bring your next new tray with you to this appointment
- Continue to wear your current tray as prescribed. Do not stop wearing your trays

3. My Invisalign ® aligner isn’t fitting
- Continue to wear your current aligner full time, 20-22 hours a day
- Use your chewies 3-4 times a day for a few minutes each time to help the tray seat all the way onto your teeth
- If you need more chewies, please call or text our office during regular business hours to receive another set
- Visit our YouTube Channel for instructional videos on how to use your chewies!
- Stay in the current aligner you are wearing until the aligner seats all the way onto your teeth before moving on to your next tray
4. My bracket fell off
- If the bracket is off the wire, place in a baggy and bring with you to have it put back on
- Please call or text our office during regular business hours to schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience to have placed back on
5. My wire is pokey, I have discomfort from the metal braces
- Use the wax in your goodie bag and take a small amount and place it on the wire or bracket in the area of discomfort
- If you do not have any dental wax you can buy some at your local store or call our office to pick some up during business hours
- If the wax does not work you can try to clip the pokey wire and slide it out of the bracket with a small nail clippers and tweezers, you will need to call and schedule an appointment during regular business hours to come in at your earliest convenience to have a new wire placed

6. I have tooth pain
- General tenderness and soreness is normal after your initial appointment and adjustments
- Cold foods like popsicles and smoothies are a great way to help with discomfort
- You may also take an over the counter medication for discomfort as needed
- If you are having sharp pain on a specific tooth, it is very sensitive to hot or cold please call your general dentist for further evaluation
7. My Invisalign® app isn’t working
- Please make sure your app is up to date, download any new updates
- Close the app and restart it
- Sometimes there are glitches on the app which do not allow it to load, please try again in a day or two
8. I cannot submit my photos on my Invisalign® app
- Please make sure your app is up to date, download any new updates

9. I have not received a link for my virtual appointment
- Please make sure you are using the phone we have on file for you
- You will receive your virtual link only a few minutes before your appointment is scheduled
10. I missed my virtual appointment
- Please call or text our office during regular business hours to reschedule
11. I missed my in office visit
- Please call or text our office during regular business hours to reschedule
12. I haven’t been in for my appointment in a while
- Please call us during regular business hours to schedule an appointment
13. I just had my teeth taken out, what should I do?
- If you are in braces we will see you at your next scheduled appointment
- If you are in Invisalign please continue to wear your trays as scheduled, and put your trays back in as soon as you can. If you cannot put your trays in immediately after your surgery wait no more than 48 hours before putting your trays back in
- If you cannot get your aligners in after your surgery please call us during business hours to schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience and bring all your aligners with you to the appointment
14. I lost my retainer, what should I do?
- Please call our office to schedule an appointment to be scanned for a new retainers, fees will apply for new retainers
15. I am leaving the country for extended period of time
